Problem

The current onboarding process is a tad bit complex for a regular user. Which leads to getting fewer traffic than desired. The amount of time it takes a user to onboard the app, resulted to a lot of friction which blocked a lot of users from moving through the funnel. We decided to redesign the process in hopes of decreasing the time to value rate, increase conversion rate, retention and customer satisfaction.

Background

Shamba is a farm to table delivery app. We deliver farm produces to a consumer.

Business Goal

We wanted to improve the Time to value ratio (TTV), so as users saw value in our app when they start the onboarding process.

User Goal

We wanted to improve the onboarding process so as we retain our users which would hopefully lead to customer satisfaction.

Redesign

Throughout the redesign we wanted to make it easy for the user to start using our app we added the option to skip straight to the homepage assuming the user didn’t want to sign up just yet. We also added the option of signing up with Google, we also added the option of adding up the users details when signing up.

Release

Upon release there was a short adaption time which indicated that the redesign was providing value to our users. The retention rate grew by 30% same as the customer satisfaction at least according to the feedback survey we did.
